The Gifts Of Christmas Past 5/365

Every year it's the same thing..Buy gifts for six children, hide them throughout the house and then wrap sometime before Christmas morning. Sounds easy enough, here's the kicker..I am the Queen of hide and seek...I hide things in my house so well that God himself would have trouble locating such items..Me, not being nearly as clever as God, hide the gifts so well I lose things every year. This year is no exception, In fact I hid the gifts so well, I called Target and Starbucks to see if my bags had been turned in. Needless to say, No..I considered fighting the charge of said lost gifts. But alas, I hid the receipt also..
Sorry for babbling on, Come Xmas morning there are 3 Starbucks gift cards (which I replaced for 60.00), one flash drive, one football, one Disney princess coloring book and a toddler size box of crayons MIA. Well, let it be said Murphy's Law came into play and a few days later all were located, except for one Junior Size Football(any ideas where I hid that son of a gun?) Oh well, I have until February to find the football and give that as a birthday present.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

4/365 Faith Is All I Need This Year..

This is going to be a great year...I am going to keep positive and look only for the good things this year..I have to keep the faith that all will be well. Who am I kidding, I know the first time one of the little ones brings a snake in the house or draws on my walls I will freak..
Yet, I have to many things to be grateful for this past year.
I am so blessed beyond words...This past year has been a real tough one, but people near and far have reached out to help. Thanksgiving Day groceries, money for the kids, free meals at school, help with school supplies, and a grocery gift card. Yes, people are beyond belief generous. I only hope I will be able to do for others, as so many have done my for my family and me. I know I will never forget the kindness, and generosity of a wonderful group of people.

Her Beauty Runs Through To Her Soul

3/365 Hey, three down and only 362 to go. Who knew this would be so easy. Well, easy may not be the right word. Either way, I may have bitten off more than I can chew..
I always do this. The kids ask for another fish in spite of the fact that all fish in my house have a life expectancy of 2 weeks, I let then get another one.Same thing with the blog, sure it will be easy to take 365 photos and blog about them. I need a shrink.
Enough of that for now.
On to this image of my oldest child...My sweet, independent, brilliant, beautiful Katy. I think Katy is an old soul, surely this girl has been here before. I am in awe of her most of the time, except for the times I have to get her to pick up her things. Some things may never change. If you can't come home and throw your clothes on the floor then what is the point of coming home from college. I need to remember that. I also need to remember to buy more toilet paper, but that's an entirely different subject.
Well, it's off to the store to buy paint for the girls' bedrooms. Until tomorrow, keep your hands to yourself and pick up your clothes. It will make your mom happy.

35 Degrees

I had no plans to post this image on my blog, but it has such special meaning to me. I had to do it.. This is my first image to make the front page of Flickr. What matters is how humbled I feel that people would like my image enough to push it to the top. There are thousands of incredible photographers on Flickr and I aspire to have even a speck of their talent. This morning made my whole day.
Too bad I can't count this as #3 of the 365 project. Darn it, now I have to shoot another image. One day during this project I am going to have to learn how to upload my pics from my camera...If not, Michael and the kids are going to refuse to help me soon..
Here's the story for this shot...True story, I looked around for Caroline last night at dinner time just as the sun is beginning to set..No one knew where she had gone..I looked outside and there she was, laying on my backyard table, on top of a rug with he blankie and pillow..Did I call her inside like a good mommy. No, I ran and get my camera and took pictures. It almost made me cry when I saw the pictures..She was sad because her big brother would not play with her..A piece of sugarless gum and all was right in the world. I hate and love these moments in life.

2/365 Self Portrait UGH......

The only thing in life more painful than a self portrait would be? Hmmm, nothing..Unfortunately, my children blackmailed me into this shot...The only way they would agree to photographs is if I would agree to take one a week of myself...Rotten little brats....
I guess I will go for now, since I feel totally humiliated by this whole thing..

3. have a theme
4. do not have a theme
5. blog it
6. do not blog it
7. make a decision
8. do not worry about making a decision right now

Well, there it is. I am certain this will be the year for success( I hope so).

365 Here I Come

The heck with new years resolutions, no one ever keeps them..I say how about a 365 day photo project..What will I shoot everyday for a year, who knows. I have about 5 hours to decide; no pressure...Should I use a theme or a person, at this point I'm still not sure. Either way, I plan to throw caution and laziness to the wind and complete this damn project if it kills me...It may just kill me!!!
Ideas:
1.love
2. kids
3. color
4.emotions
5.feet
6. textures
7.black/white
8.sepia
9.selfie( in the words of the kids, "hell to the NO with that idea").
10.food ( i do LOVE food).
11.nature
12. anything

Ok, so I may have to sleep on it, but I plan to pull this off. Yes, I may have to neglect my duties as a wife and mother, but this is for the good of humanity. This is a new reason to get up in the morning, my excuse to upload 365 pictures, a way to further my skills as a photographer wanna be. You know it, I will never be able to do this if I don't tell you( ok, I know that I am talking to myself).

Well, the children are fighting and screaming at each other and I don't want to miss a moment of it so I must go for now...I will see you tomorrow and I will start 2010 with a shot.
