STOP!!!!

STOP!!!!, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

Today, I am posting the light that almost saw my last breath.. This morning at 7:00am I was sitting at this light waiting for the light to turn green. The light turned green, but I hesitated for a few seconds. Thank you God! As I was waiting to see if the traffic was truly clear a large white pickup truck ran the red light going at least 60mph. He was reading a paper, and never looked up even though I was blowing my horn. He would have hit my driver's side door and possibly killed me. Did he realize that my 6 children would be left without a mother, my husband without a wife. Did he care that his stupidity could have killed him also?

PLEASE, always wait before you go when the light turns green. This is a lesson I will be trying to instill in my children, I am so thankful it was me this morning and not one of my children driving..

Collecting Bamboo from the neighbor's yard, Shhh.

Caroline and I spent an hour or so hanging out together last night. We searched for 4 leaf clovers, tried to hand feed a bunny and collected bamboo from the neighbor's yard. Lots of fun for us both.

I was amazed when I saw these pictures at the young lady that emerged from these images, when did this happen?? I guess she is no longer my little girl, but now she is my big girl..

She had her eye on this bunny she was convinced she could feed. Well, as you can imagine no bunny was hand fed. Caroline did have fun watching the bunny play and eat grass. She is my Mother of Nature girl..

Coco 5 Days New

Coco, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

Here is a little one that I had the pleasure of photographing. She was 5 days old and full of spunk. This sweetheart decided she wasn't going to have her picture taken, but 5 hours into her session she gave up for a few shots. Needless to say, I walked away tired and she left with a well fought victory.

I learned some important lessons this day:
1. The baby is in control
2. Always remember to bring the camera
3. A baby can poo more than 30 X in a 5 hour period
4. Baby poo does not smell good
5. Keep a sense of humor no matter what
6. 5 day old baby's can flip you the bird(she did).
7. I still love this job, no matter what
8. The baby is in control

Thank you so much, Coco for the life lessons. You are a master teacher and one gorgeous little girl.

Two crazed bath maniacs...

Two crazed bath maniacs..., originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

These two have not taken a bath together for months, I was shocked to see how much they look alike and how similar they are in size. I guess 5 years difference does not mean much.

I am always shocked by how much all the kids have grown in a year. One minute they are little babies and before you know it, they are men and women. If only time would slow down to the pace that is good for me. Yet, there are days when I feel the need to fast forward to bedtime in a need for quiet. When they are snuggled in their beds they all look like angels, no matter whether the child is 19 or 2..

For today I am content just to take each moment as it comes. However, when the kids get home from school I reserve the right to change my mind. :):)

Safe, In Mommy's Hands

Safe, In Mommy's Hands, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

I had the incredible pleasure of shooting with my friend again. We spent 4 hours posing, shooting, calming, feeding and loving this little guy, Hudson. He was one of the cutest little babies and a pure joy.

I LOVE this job. There is no other job I would rather do in the world besides love on my own kids, but on the days I am blessed to shoot a newborn I am in Heaven.

He looked good in every color and posed like a trooper. He did have an elusive smile. He smiled the second Tina and I took the camera away,:stinker.

Senior sessions 100/365

Okay, so I have been so busy taking senior pictures. Not really my cup of tea, but a chance to get more practice. I was blessed to work with some incredible seniors the past few weeks and they are a lot easier than little kiddos.
I am learning that the processing is a LOT of work, but I am getting there slowly but surely..I realize now though that this is definitely what I LOVE to do. Besides being a mom, nothing else brings me more joy and pleasure than shooting pictures. I could do it all day long and can't wait to pick up my camera again. I am also realizing I LOVE the newbies, they are a bit more time consuming, but there is no greater joy.
I promise not to keep ignoring the blog, but it may be a few more days before I catch up again. Between photo shoots, chicken pox and the end of the year duties for school things have been busy.
hugs to all and God bless!!

A handsome guy here and there.

Bench Baby 99/365

Bench Baby 99/365, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

Caught this little shot as she was resting for a minute on the bench looking at the birds in the tree last night. I love this little stinker butt. She didn't go to bed until after 11:00 last night. I swear any nap during the day spells doom and gloom for bedtime..Any suggestions besides the obvious. The preschool makes them nap, but I am tired by 10:00 and I am ready for mom time. Ugh.

Hello Mr Crane...98/365, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

Just a little fellow I saw on my nightly walk with my neighbor tonight. He was just hanging out in the creek. I love the evenings, the light is so beautiful and the breeze is so inviting.

I love finding beautiful wildlife on my walks, except when the wildlife is a snake. UGH...Those buggers make me run screaming like a little sissy. This little guy was just my speed.

Does Anyone Remember Tammy Faye? 97/365

Well, I do and I think Phoebe did a great job capturing her look. Make a note: Keep makeup up higher!!!

This little one came down with the chicken pox a few days ago. So much for the vaccine. Everyone of my kids that had the shot has gotten the pox. I guess now we are done with this annoying disease. Okay, well may not for a few more days.

Blowing in the Wind.. 93/365

The blue bonnets are so beautiful this time of year. I find it difficult to resist shooting them over and over. The colors are so lovely against the green grass that they draw me in everytime I pass by them. It makes my walks even more enjoyable..
In a few weeks all the poppies and blackeyed susans will also be in the fields..I am so excited, such a gorgeous time of year

On the Road ~ Fence Friday 90/365

On the road today to visit Katy. She gets her class ring today and it's a big event at her school. Mike and I are making the 4 hour drive down and back, I didn't want to miss this special day for anything..
I can't believe she will graduate with her Bachelor's degree in December..I am just so proud of her and all her hard work..Next, graduate school for her and college for Jay. Wow, times flies and kids grow up before you know it.
Take Care and have a blessed day and weekend..

Sometimes Love Finds You! 89/365

I was looking in the mirror in the dining room and saw the reflection of this heart leaf in the bush out front. It was darker red than the other leaves, I knew it was meant to be found..I love it when Love shows up in nature.
I hope LOVE finds you today..

Miss V Gives Me "The Look".

I had another wonderful opportunity to go on a session with my friend. What was supposed to be a forty minute shoot turned into a good 3 hours. Miss V was teething and full of lots of tears..
I love this shot because I think it captured her real emotions of how she felt about being photographed this day. Either way, she was beautiful as was her wonderful family. I know I truly had a blast and it was one of the best shoots to date..

Mommy and Baby V

This is one of my faves from the shoot. I love the way mom is looking at the baby. Little V was so content leaning on mom's knees.

Baby V family

Mom and Dad were wonderful during this very LONG session..Miss V was not too interested in having her picture taken, but we managed to catch a few of her..

Another one of the images of this sweet little muffin.

Potty Training and Washing Our Own Hands Bench Monday

We are in the potty training stage..Thank Goodness, I have had kids in diapers or pull ups consistenly for almost 20 years..I am soo excited, I may not have to wipe any more bums, FINALLY. I hope Huggies and the the cloth diapers companies don't go out of business now!!

I admit it, I miss the cloth diapers. They were so cute on the little baby bums. They also smelled so fresh after they were laundered. Phoebe got big so fast I had to switch her to Huggies a year ago. Soon, she will be wearing Princess panties and wiping her own bum.Aaaahhh..

The First Rose 88/365

Freshly picked by this child, I assume. Oh well, there will be many more to come this season..This is the face she gave me when I asked her if she picked Mommy's rose. Clearly the answer is, Yes!! But who could get mad at that face?
I wait every year for my Lilies to bloom, they are such a beautiful pink color. Well, earlier this month someone smashed the flowers, but I still hold out hope they may still bloom. If not, I will wait a whole year to see if they stand a chance next year.
Maybe I will grow some cactus plants in the yard. I wonder if the kids would be smart enough to keep their little fingers off. Hmmm, an idea I should seriously consider.

She's a Real Swinger 87/365

Yep, this 14 year old will swing until she gets blisters. She has enjoyed swinging since she was a newborn, one of the only kids in the gaggle of little ones that loved the swing. I guess her affection for this continues even today. She likes to swing into the Crepe Myrtle tree to see if she can touch the leaves. Scares me to death. Darn kids!!!

"Gee, Thanks Guys For Letting Me Take Your Picture". 86/365

This is why you see so few pictures of my big kids. I try to take a picture and this is what I get every time. Oh well, pay back boys! Boys are such goofballs, it is difficult to see them as serious business professionals one day..Would you hire either one of these guys to do your surgery, or do you taxes, or sell you a house? Not me..Now, I can see them putting a whoopie cushion on grandmas chair, juggling for money in the streets or maybe, selling me a lemon at the used car lot..LOL.

All kidding aside, I love my Dorks! Life would be awfully boring without them..

I Heart You 85/365

I guess it was meant to be, the writing is on the rail..

My New Book 84/365

Step One: Spot neat little tendril.
Step Two: Grab vine to steady the plant.
Step Three: Take picture.

Any Questions?
Did you know that tendrils are on poison ivy plants? I didn't.. Go ahead and laugh, I deserve it. I blame one of my flickr friends for her beautiful shot of a tendril that inspired me to seek one out. :)

Vintage Smile 82/365

Today was a session of just Phoebe and my vintage pieces..I have been wanting to get some shots on the tracks with an old time feel. I have a shot of all my kids with a vintage flair, so today was Phebe's turn.
I am not too sure I could have gotten this shot without my friend dropping things on my head to get the little miss to smile. Thanks so much to Bonnie for showing up unexpectanly to see how things were going..

Vintage case

This is our vintage suitcase shot..Phoebe was not in any real mood for this, but we did our best.
