The Strange Habits of A Naked Donut Eating Two Year Old ~ Bench Monday 79/365

I had to post the whole set...I spied this strange activity after returning from the laundry room.
1.naked, dress on the floor, water running?
2.rinsing the donette, Why?
3.licking the donette and eating it. Weird
4.calling her name and getting caught with her left hand in the Donette bag.

I may be her mother, but this is one strange kid.
Happy Bench Monday

Jay's 18 today. 78/365

Jay's 18 today. 78/365, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

Happy Birthday Jefferson. Today my sweet, handsome, funny, smart, goofy son is 18. Sounds stupid, but it is making cry like a baby to even write this today.
18 years and two months ago my hubby and I got the call that a baby was coming in March did we want to adopt it. We said we really wanted a boy, but the sex was unknown. We called back and said yes, either way our family would be complete(hahahahaha). One week later we found out we were going to have a boy. Yippee.
March 27th, I told my hubby I had a feeling the baby would come early so I drove down to Clearwater with my little girl, Katy and waited. Now, mind you we still had one more home study to be completed that day, so Mike stayed behind for that. The next day the beeper went off and I found out our son was on his way. I went to the hospital and waited, nervous and unsure of being in the room as this other person was giving birth to my son. She encouraged me to stay and watch. I did.. In the middle of the Monster truck ralley on tv, my son was born. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It is the only birth I have ever witnessed and it still makes me cry.My hubby arrived about a 1/2 hour later, he missed it. I knew the little feeling to get there early was correct.

The next day at 10:00 am with clamp still attached they said here he is, take him home. WHAT? We didn't even have an outfit or the carseat. Mike drove to Walmart(the only store open on a Sunday morning) and bought a 3-6 month outfit(which was HUGE) and we turned Katy's carseat around and took our baby home.
Thanks for understanding my rambling. I love this guy so much, he is a complete joy and blessing and one of the smartest guys I know. Happy birthday Jay.

Fresh Air... 77/365

Fresh Air... 77/365, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

Today, I felt like a new person. 100% recovery baby, and so I went out for a walk by myself and just relaxed. Pain at the minimum. Okay, later today I was pooped, but still worth the walk..
The weather was divine, mid 60's and sunny. A dream come true, surely Spring is just around the corner.Yay, for warm weather and flowers, and green grass.

Pinkalicious

Pinkalicious, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

I little beauty I found on my walk. Every time I see pink, I think of this cute book PINKALICIOUS that a sweet friend Laura gave the girls, Phoebe makes me read it every night and every day. I think I dream in pink now.

"I See You, So Stop Taking My Picture Lady".

That's what it sounded like to me. I guess everyone you see on a walk isn't really interested in talking or having a picture taken. Who knew? Either way, I thought he or she was a real cutie pie

A Day to Rest and Recover 76/365

I am feeling great tonight and thankful today is over. I had forgotten how much anethesia made me sick. I am such a wimp. I got the best care today from Michael and the kids. Phoebe played the role of mommy and even shared a sticky, wet, nasty lollipop with me. Ugh. It would have hurt her feelings not to try it. Caroline made me a picture of and angel, hmmm. I admit it, I'm a little nervous..lol. Had a blast talking to Katy, she is the best for phone conversation..

I do have news that requires praise and a prayer. My neice Karsten has been diagnosed with a growth in her ear. The praise is that it does not extend beyond the ear and tumors in the ear don't usually spread. Amen. Pray for her surgery and the hope that her hearing loss will be restored. I also ask for prayer for Mike, he is looking at a possible contract after over a year without even a nibble of a job. Thanks so much ..

Okay, I am heading up to bed. Sorry for the babbling, I will be more clear headed tomorrow..hugs

"All In All, It's Just Another Brick In The Wall" 75/365.

This song popped in my head when I looked at my photo.
Bringin' back the 80's

This is a desperate attempt at any kind of shot today. You would think with Phoebe at preschool today I would have tons of time. If only that were true. I guess I could have put off grocery shopping and cleaning the kitchen. The problem was, the cupboards were bare and the ants were trying to take over the counters. I felt I had no choice but to wage an all out assault on the little buggers. They were running onto the counter as fast as I was killing them ..I finally got the glass cleaner and just sat by spraying every one of those ants. I even found myself threatening them verbally. I do think I won this battle for today. No doubt, tonight they will wage a new war, but I will be waiting with my spray and a roll of paper towels..

Well, I need to get some sleep, war is never easy. I am sure the ants are waiting for me to show weakness, so rest is essential.
love to all, please pray for me on my mission.

Happy Birthday Em...74/365

Happy Birthday Em...74/365, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

Today is Em's 14th birthday. This little angel gave me two months notice to prepare for her birth. She came almost 3 weeks early and I barely had time to throw my clothes in a suitcase to get to the airport to see her that day. When I arrived she was all wrapped up in a pink blanket(she still has it in her bed today). She was soooo tiny and perfect. She had tiniest little toes and fingers. I was in love.

I brought her home to my in- laws at 2 days old. The night I brought Em home I felt sick and was forced to let my in laws care for my new baby that night. I cried all night. Luckily it was exhaustion and not the flu so I was able to hold her that next day.

Emily was the mostly colicky baby and only wanted her mommy. Today she is 14 and I am hard pressed to get her to sit next to me. As a mom with older kids, I realize this to shall pass. Emily is very beautiful, intelligent, and extremely athletic. She is also the fastest talker in the West. It's a gift.:)

Finally, I just want to add that I love this girl so much and I am so proud of her.Happy Birthday Emmie.

We Must Cross The Bridge To Get Home 73/365

This is for the Blur Project, through Parallel Visions.. I cross the bridge every time I pick up the kids from school. Today was such a gorgeous day, I was able to walk Caroline home from school. I hope this is the beginning of our warm weather.

Tonight has been hectic with the kids. I have been trying for two hours to get kids to bed and still no one is settled down. I may actually lose my mind tonight. Needless to say, I need to go. My bath I have drawn will have to wait, bedtime for mommy will have to wait, putting the laundry up will have to wait, but by golly, the blog waits for no one.

Two days ago... 72/365

Anatomy of a Twirl, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

Just had to show you the difference a few days makes in our weather here.

Lovin the Snow...The First Day of Spring 71/365

Lovin the Snow 71/365, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

for about 5 minutes, then it was all tears for this little one. I guess she is sick of the snow, until next winter. At least I got off a few shots early this morning before the crying started.
Nice way to start the first day of Spring. We had record setting snow today..The forecast was for a possible 1 inch accumulation over night. Well, we got 6 inches and boy was it beautiful. Everyone enjoyed it for a last hoorah.

Even the dog had fun today. I caught him with his paws on the window sill looking out at the snow. I was not fast enough to catch the shot, but it was sooo cute.

The minute I let him out he was off like a rocket, running, jumping and rolling in the white fluff. Okay, he also marked his area, "Please, kids do not eat the yellow snow". Just a precautionary measure need to prevent, well, you get the idea..

A New Day 69/365

A New Day 69/365, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

Another day, another sign of spring.. I am happy to report that it was a fabulous week for the family..Sure, we started with me starting a little fire, but there were weeds in that area that I had to kill. So it turned out for the best.
The weather was fabulous, which meant lots of outdoor time for me and the kids. We built forts in the house, the kids made a teepee out of old lumber, we played softball, we took pictures, we looked at the stars at night, the kids stayed up way TOO LATE, they also slewpt in way too late, we played on the swingset, we ate some yummy pizzas and we gpt tp see Katy for a few days. All in all it was a fantastic week.
I am happy to see Spring break come to a close, mainly so I can get the house put back in order and do about 20 loads of laundry. Also, I am exhausted from living in my kitchen cooking 200 meals for 7 different tastes..
Now, the countdown begins for Summer break..Hopefully, it will involve a much needed trip to visit family in Florida. Aaaahhh. just thinking of the beach makes me feel so relaxed and happy.

Spring Is In The Air...68/365

I wanted this shot so much today, that I walked 2 1/2 miles to find this group of trees. I loved the bright colors and beautiful blossoms. It may sound silly, but I felt so fulfilled because I finally got this shot. I missed it last year because I waited too long, and today was such a gorgeous day. I grabbed the camera and just went walking.

I love to hear and see all the birds and animals when I go walking..Okay, except for the Tarantula that I saw on my walk last year. Truth be told, I was screaming and jumping up and down like a crazy lady. So embarrassing. Hopefully, I will show a little more grace if it happens again. Who knows?

Just Us 67/365

Just Us 67/365, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

Nothing much. Just a shot of us before we went in the house for the night. The warm weather makes for more outside time, which makes mommy very happy. I love to play with the kids in the yard and push them on the swing set.. They love to play up in the fort and eat dinner and snacks up there..I love Spring.

Thanks for the Memories and Lies 66/365

Too long and personal of a story to go into. I will say these are for my dr and his staff for 15 years of tender loving care and for making me smile every time I leave their office. This is also a thank you for telling me I looked in great shape, even though I feel differently.

I also want to thank them for my quickie procedure that will make me feel like a new woman next week.. Although they will never see this, I still felt compelled to say thanks...

My Fun Sunday...FIRE!!! 65/365

Okay, so I learned some very important lessons today. Being a freak about getting the lawn in shape, I decided it was a beautiful day to mow, edge and clean up the yard. I mowed,no problem.. I weed wacked, no problem.. I edged the neighbors yard and then my own. That is where the problem started. I was edging, Caroline was sweeping and suddenly she taps me, eyes as big as saucers. I think there must be a snake or something, then I see her mouth saying FIRE!!!!

Guess what, I did not have a in the front yard? A HOSE!!! The fire is growing and I run in the house looking for the phone to call 911 if necessary. Fire growing, a very nice man stopped and tried to help, but still no hose.. My brilliant daughter tried beating it out with a wet towel which really helped to slow it down, but it still grew. At last, my neighbor across the street runs over with a hose and guess what, he helps to spray down the fire as the fire dept arrives to see us extinguishing the blaze.

Thanks to my 7 year old, 19 year old and some great people the fire did not reach the house. Needless to say, I did NOT continue to edge the yard. Too much excitement for one day.
Lessons learned:
1. put a hose on the spicket out front.
2. do not use edger unless the grass is moist.
3. Always have a lookout person to watch for fires
4. do not use my tennis shoes to stomp out a fire, they melt on the sole.
5. wear makeup and a bra the next time I mow the lawn in case HOT firemen have to come to my rescue again.

So that was my quiet Sunday afternoon. How was your day?

The Sunny Side of Life 64/365

Trying to catch up. It's almost midnight and I am headed off to bed, but I wanted to post my images today. Tomorrow is clean like a crazy woman day.. nighty night.

BTW. Meme, I just wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday..I love you and adore you..Thanks for being a great mother in law and a wonderful friend...kiss kiss.

Daffodils and Daisies 63/365

Daffodils and Daisies, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

Finally, some beautiful weather here..It was in the low 70's today, so I walked home from school with the kids. Caroline and Phoebe had a blast picking wild daffodils and weeds. I am afraid you will see a few more tomorrow.

The kids start spring break on Friday so I need to hurry and get the house cleaned from top to bottom..The poor darlings need something to do while they are home on vacation and what is more fun than wrecking the house.lol. I don't want the little dears to be bored. Maybe I will throw in a little yard work and car washing. I may even take some to the ice cream shop(okay, this is more for me than them).Other than that my needs are small.

I am actually hoping to sleep in past 7:00 am on day.. "Oh, please, please let Phoebe sleep in at least one day". With some sleep and some beautiful weather this could turn into a really great week. With the opposite, I could be driven to the nut house. Stay tuned!!

Miss Sleepy Sarah

IMG_7629a, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

I had more fun than words can express taking these images. It was truly a dream come true for me. I was so blessed to work with a friend and get the opportunity to take these images. I can't wait to do another shoot. It sure did confirm my desire to pursue photography.
This little gal was an angel and her mom and dad were awesome about this shoot taking around 4 hours. I got to enjoy the day with this great family and can't wait to see little Sarah again .

Hot Pink Mini Mamma 62/365

Hot Pink Mini Mamma 62/365, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

This girl loves her heels and her new "purple dots dress".
The shoes caused her feet to bleed, but she insisted I give her a Dora the Explorer "bandad" and she put the shoes back on. I guess a girl needs to get used to standing on 2 inch heels at some point in time, even if it means a little blood will be shed.

Somedays, I Wish I Could See What Lies Ahead. 61/365

Most days I want to take each day as it comes. There are so days when I am impatient and a worrier at times, those days I want to see the future. Hmmm, probably not a good thing.

On to other things, the 365 blog has gone out the window. Life keeps getting in the way, not to mention I feel a little self serving talking about me and my family all the time. I suppose could mix things up a little and find other things to discuss.

I would to discuss why do they make so many movies about violence and anger. I am so tired of those movies, I long for a great feel good movie. I have been hoping the movie industry would make some of my favorite books into movies: The Wedding, is an awesome book about marriage and love and the realities of being a couple. The Saving Graces is another one I would love to see on the big screen. A moving story about 4 girlfriends and their lives as individuals and as a group of friends. Finally, how about The Red Tent, an incredible book about Dinah from the bible and the relationships between the all the women..
My theory is, the movie industry caters to men, teens and children and not women. I for one, love movies about women and for women. I say bring us some good movies and slow it down with all the movies about Vampires, Blue Avatars, and Drug Lords. I don't have any interest in them now or ever.

Ugh, I'm out of breath, that was a rant. Sorry, I am back to normal now..I hope this blog finds you doing well and living in love.

xoxo

Family Room Fort 60/365

Family Room Fort 60/365, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

Just another rainy day in the big state of Texas.Once again the kids were housebound and in need of entertainment...This is so much better than television, a favorite at our house.

I can't even count the number of forts that have been built in this room over the past 14 years...I can tell you each and everyone has been unique and loved by its occupant. This one is a bit wimpy, but it served its purpose..

IMG_7299

IMG_7299, originally uploaded by krispycrunch6.

Isn't it fun to play in a fort when the weather is too yucky to go outside..Caroline and Phoebe sure thought so, although I had to keep rebuilding this little puppy..Phoebe did not understand that she should not pull down the blankies and Yogi would not stay away.

A Look Back~Bench Monday 59/365

I took this shot on the right this morning as the Bebe was watching the rain and it reminded me of a shot I caught last year. I went through the 2009 archives and found the shot on the left. It had been taken near the end of Feb last year. I am so glad she was caught in the window again this year.

Amazing how quickly the kids change in a year.. I know I am certainly growing also, out not up, but it's still growth..I guess I need to lay off the cookies, and kids left overs. I am learning that I now eat when I am stressed, so look out Jenny Craig a new spokesperson is on the way.
Hopefully, I will come up with another way to handle stress, any suggestions? I think going to Florida and relaxing at the beach and spending time with family would help. I wonder if I can get the doc to write that in a prescription? I wonder if my insurance would pay for the travel? Hello, this is medically necessary!! Some things to ponder to when I sit down to the apple tart I plan to make for dessert tonight. MMmmMMMmmmm.
